Hoka Mafate Speed 2 Trail Running Shoes
The Mafate Speed 2 was built to offer support and cushioning in technical terrain over any distance. This update features a deep active foot frame for support and a tuned meta-rocker to facilitate smooth transitions through the gait cycle.
Lightweight SpeedFrame Upper
Featuring a lightweight, no-sew SpeedFrame construction, these Mafate Speed 2 Running Shoes eliminate any chance of friction or irritation around the foot; allowing you to focus more on your technique and less on distractions. An external Monomesh Debris Screen prevents annoying debris from entering the shoe, for an irritation-free fit. A lightweight external TPU heel counter helps to lock your heel in the shoe firmly, providing a better fit and feel whilst you're running, whilst Hoka One One flat laces reduce the amount of pressure on the top of the foot; therefore reducing the risk of discomfort that normal laces might give. A removable Ortholite insole provides that extra bit of comfort before the midsole cushioning and features antibacterial and anti-odour properties, ensuring a better environment for your feet.
CMEVA Midsole
A Meta-Rocker midsole geometry is specifically designed with a low heel-toe differential and a sculpted outsole in the heel and toe, creates a unique fulcrum effect, like a rocking chair for your foot, encouraging a guided gait cycle. The unique feature is designed to support a runner's natural form whilst encouraging an efficient, smooth roll from initial impact to toe-off.
Lightweight cushioned CMEVA fills the midsole volume. This engineered midsole volume is up to 2.5x the volume compared to standard running shoes, made with a performance-specific, lightweight cushioning material. The maximum cushioning material is designed to provide shock attenuation and superior comfort for reduced fatigue in out feet, legs, and core. An RMAT midsole is a new midsole material with new characteristics such as increased rebound, better durability, and exceptional outsole grip, even on wet surfaces. It provides state-of-the-art resilience to breakdown, underfoot stability, and durability, everything that a runner dreams of in a shoe. A sculpted arch pod provides support to the arch on difficult terrain ensuring that you don't over-pronate as you're going through the gait cycle, reducing the risk of injury.
Vibram Outsole
The Vibram outsole is a high-performance rubber compound that features unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity and optimal ground adaptability. The outsole utilizes deep flex grooves to adapt to a variety of terrain and the 5mm Vibram Mega-Grip tread grips even the trickiest of surfaces. With a full ground contact design, the surface area of the foot widens giving more surface area to the Vibram outsole to grip to allow you to plough through the trail.
