Matryx Upper

The upper of the Hoka Tecton X 3 has been created with Matryx fabric. This provides a highly durable upper with a secure fit and feel, while remaining highly breathable keeping feet cool and comfortable as you clock up those miles. Allowing cool air to permeate the fabric removes uncomfortable heat build-up creating a healthy environment where feet can thrive. The upper uses kevlar fibres increasing the durability and protecting your feet and shoes from knocks and scrapes leaving you with a shoe that is built to last. The shoes feature a gaiter-like extended knit collar to prevent any trail debris from entering the shoe so you can stay focused on the trail ahead. A protective toe rand provides optimal protection from rocks and trail debris and a Ghillie lacing system locks down the midfoot for reduced in-shoe movement for a locked-in feel.

Dual-Layer PEBA Foam Midsole

Supplying you with an exceptional ride, the Tecton 3 X utilises a dual-layer PEBA foam midsole to provide a highly cushioned, responsive ride. The foam compound has been upgraded in this model and adapts to your stride providing a great balance of support and flexibility. Not only this, but it helps to reduce injury by providing a softer base cushioning your landing with every stride taken. Within the midsole, a newly designed carbon fibre plate helps to deliver a smoother transition throughout the gait cycle. The carbon plate minimises energy loss, increases propulsion and delivers an abundance of structural support, making running feel effortless and giving you the confidence to reach new PBs. The updated plate features winglets to increase stability when picking up the pace. The midsole has a speed-centric MetaRocker to create a rocking chair-style effect to encourage a guided gait whilst helping to increase your speed.

This high-performance rubber compound provides unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity and optimal ground adaptability. The rubber can form a solid bond with the ground beneath to ensure traction and control as you explore the unbeaten path. Zonal rubber placement ensures traction and grip where you need it most while remaining lightweight so you can cut through tough terrain easily.
