GORE-TEX Upper
The upper of the Lycan is constructed from a technical mesh that encases each foot in breathable comfort. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the entire upper, providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot muggy air. An updated highly abrasion-resistant upper will prevent any damage from being caused to the upper, which will allow you to push yourself harder, safe in the knowledge that you won't cause damage to the shoes. The mesh also boasts reinforcements in abrasion-resistant microfiber technology to prevent roots, rocks and stones from getting into the shoes and reduce the risk of injury. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; integrated with the mesh upper it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. Additionally, the upper features a protective TPU toe cap that protects the front of the foot against trail hazards such as rocks and roots. The shoe offers a breathable, antiskid mesh lining that enhances ventilation and prevents in-shoe slipping from occurring when on unpredictable terrain. Lastly, the Lycan features a 4mm Ortholite Mountain Ergonomic footbed that is extremely breathable for a cooler foot. The unique open cell structure creates a moisture management system that wicks sweat and dries incredibly fast while offering long-term cushioning. The insole will retain over 95% of its thickness over time and won't flatten out. The footbed also features anti-microbial agents preventing the growth of odour-causing microbes, keeping your shoes smelling fresher for longer. New and updated artwork on the upper completes the attractive look.
Injected EVA Midsole
The midsole features an injection moulded EVA midsole which differs from the standard compression moulded EVA midsoles providing a higher degree of cushioning. These features support the propulsion phase of the gait cycle, making this shoe ideal for use on off-road trails. Furthermore, EVA-injected midsoles drastically reduce the squash effect of the EVA over time, allowing the compound to maintain the same characteristics and high performance for its entire duration.
FriXion Blue Outsole
Using La Sportiva's FriXion Blue outsole, the outsole keeps you in full control no matter what the terrain, as the outsole will provide you with exceptional traction. The FriXion Blue is designed to provide high durability against soft, as well as, hard ground meaning that the long-lasting compound is ideal for both roads and tracks. Multi-directional lugs and grooves will dig into wet ground to anchor your feet into place a secure and stable step on varied surfaces.
