The La Sportiva Akasha offers a neutral, highly cushioned shoe with great shock absorption designed for long distance running with challenging terrains.
The Akasha offers soft slip-on uppers, with a performance fit, great breathability, and a cushioned platform to provide the maximum comfort for the wearer. With the versatile sole, they are ideal for all types of terrain such as grass, stone, moss and mud and great for running in either high humidity or on dry ground.
AirMesh Upper
The upper of the Akasha is constructed of airmesh nylon fabric woven into a breathable mesh pattern that gives great durability. The airmesh allows air to fully permeate the entire upper, providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air. Simultaneously the mesh forces out hot, muggy air that resides in the uppers during high-intense activity. In addition, the upper overs synthetic overlays that work in tandem with the lacing system to provide a nice snug fit. This strategic construction allows the mesh to wrap the foot and prevent any in shoe slipping from occurring, thus leaving you in complete comfort throughout your run. With PU leather at the rear, it provides a lightweight feel, good durability and ability to absorb impacts, while Dynamic ProTechTion gives protection at the toe and offers structural integrity.
MEMlex EVA Midsole
The midsole has dual-injection shock absorbing MEMlex EVA/cushion platform. MEMlex Eva is a compression moulded midsole of 80% EVA and 20% SBR which provides a firm, cushioned midsole that is extremely lightweight and gives good elasticity. EVA injected midsoles reduce the "squash" effect of the EVA overtime, allowing the product to maintain the same characteristics and high performance for its entire duration.
FriXion XT Outsole
The Akasha sole has the FriXion XT dual density with the Trail Rocker System. FriXion is designed to give good grip, durability and shock absorption on all types of terrains. The Trail Rocker outsole technology promotes a rolling heel-to-toe motion for smooth performance on the trail. The innovative system of impact brake system is applied to the sole to absorb the negative ground impact and improve grip when running downhill. The unique position of the lugs allow as many of them to come in contact with the ground, for maximum impact absorption.
