Mammut Sapuen Low GORE-TEX Hiking Shoes
The Sapuen Low GORE-TEX is a versatile hiking shoe for all kinds of terrain built with Mammut Flextron Technology to support rolling ankles, and a Gore-Tex membrane to keep feet dry.
Double Engineered Mesh, Stretch Upper
Designed to provide lightweight comfort, the Mammut Sapuen Low GORE-TEX Hiking Shoes have been constructed using a stretch mesh upper. The lightweight and highly breathable upper construction allows cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst at the same time allowing hot humid air to escape. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe. The membrane integrates with the mesh upper to supply a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. By perfectly matching the GORE-TEX membrane to the footwear upper material, wrinkles and folds are eliminated, reducing pressure points and creating a true-to-size forefoot area. Reduced weight, less water pick-up and faster drying times are among the other benefits of this running shoe technology. The GORE-TEX tongue is elastic ensuring water can't penetrate through, keeping feet dry and comfortable. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system that locks down the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
PU Midsole
Constructed using a PU midsole integrated with 3D memo foam insole and Mummut's Georganic 3D technology, the Sapuen Low GORE-TEX Hiking Shoes keep you comfortable mile after mile. PU is an ultra-flexible material allowing your feet to move freely and not feel confined by the shoes. The midsole also features Mammut's Georganic 3D technology to provide you with technical cushioning and ergonomic comfort. The geometric-dynamic design has been given organically shaped cuts, these shaped cuts have been formed from research that are specific to certain movements. The key to the Georganic concept is the anatomical shape which has specific foot mapping for the arch, ankle and heel to provide you with an improved and more precise fit. A combination of a 3D moulded heel counter and 3D shaped memory foam insoles offers performance orientated and individualised fit so these shoes will mould to suit your feet. These two features both work in tandem to keep the ankle well protected and stable. Completing the midsole is motion control which prevents twisting within the shoe whilst still allowing for freedom of movement. The control system prevents the foot from twisting too much and therefore significantly reduces the risks of injury.
Vibram Flextron II Outsole
Mammut have identified 3 key aspects that they want in an outsole and have delivered it; ergonomic movement, dynamic control and optimal traction, their Flextron technology deals with all of them. Creating a barefoot feeling that supports your foot's natural anatomy, the aim of the Flextron technology is to relieve pressure keeping you feeling light on your feet. The core of the technology is a spring-steel sole which provides you with flexible support to ensure your foot is rolling correctly and naturally improving your posture as well as a more efficient way to use your energy. The lateral stability of the sole improves your foot position, therefore, providing you with precise landing even on uneven terrain. The contact surface in the shoe is increased, thanks to even distribution of movement forces all over the shoe, resulting in improved grip. Couple this with the Vibram outsole, known for being the market leader in grippy outsoles and you're guaranteed traction as well as stability on any type of surface.
