GORE-TEX Upper
The Moab 2 GORE-TEX Walking Shoes from Merrell is made from GORE-TEX fabric. GORE-TEX is a fully waterproof membrane which blocks out water but is also superbly breathable, allowing the wearer to stay dry, cool and comfortable as they perform.
In addition, the upper of the Moab 2 GORE-TEX is constructed using a performance sued leather and mesh upper for the best possible results while out and about. The performance suede leather enhances durability to the upper protecting your foot from sharp rocks/objects that you may come across during the tricky trail. The mesh is strategically placed in areas that are prone to moisture build-up and areas that need ventilation the most. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the upper, providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously pushing out hot, muggy air that resides in the boots during heavy exertion.
A bellows tongue works to keep moisture out of the shoe as well as shielding the foot and inside of the shoe from dirt and debris which could possibly enter, especially on loose, rugged trails. A protective rubber toe cap helps to provide protection to the toes as you traverse through the unknown of the trails. The toe cap prevents injury to the toes in case you stub them on rocks or any other hard objects that the terrain may throw at you.
Merrel M-Select Fit Eco+ Blended EVA
The footbed is made from a Blended EVA which offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smooth wear. By supporting these keys areas of the foot, this midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possibly injury.
The heel of the shoe is fitted with an Air Cushion which helps to keep the foot stable inside of the shoe as well as absorbing heel to help prevent injury that could be caused. EVA Foam has also been added to the midsole to offer long-lasting, plush cushioning under the foot to keep the wearer feeling comfortable and stable on their feet as they enjoy their chosen activity. A moulded nylon arch shank also helps to prevent overpronation when your body starts to tire but also provides torsional support, preventing the boot from twisting while on uneven terrain.
Vibram TC5+ Outsole
The outsole has been constructed from Vibram TC5+ rubber which is extremely durable and practical. This rubber also allows the shoe to grip various terrain in various weather conditions that the wearer will come across as they walk and explore. The lug pattern provides stability and confidence in all conditions, with no lugs placed under the arch to promote natural flexibility of the foot for greater comfort.
