Waterproof Upper

Surrounding the upper of the Merrell Kivu Mid Waterproof Walking Boots, Merrell have used a waterproof material, which will work hard to keep your feet feeling dry and comfortable. Moisture that lands on the surface of the boot can be wicked away extremely efficiently as the boots have a TPU waterproof shell, keeping the overall weight of the boots down to a minimum. As well as this, the boot contains M-Select DRY, a waterproof membrane developed by Merrell to keep your feet dry and ventilated. The whole of the upper is surrounded by an impermeable membrane which seals out moisture, stopping any of it from entering and coming into contact with your feet. From the inside, the membrane will allow moisture to exit to keep you feeling ventilated and fresh. Thick and sturdy material surrounds the toes and heel, which will provide you with protection from any knocks and stability to keep you in a firm and upright position. A traditional lace closure system which runs all the way up the foot will make it easy to secure the boots to a comfortable fit, with a metal hook and lacing eyelet for secure lacing. A bellows tongue sits comfortably on the ankle and will keep all debris and dirt out. The ankle collar is soft and padded, reducing the risk of irritation being caused by rubbing and chafing.

EVA Midsole

The EVA foam midsole in the Kivu Mid Waterproof Walking Boots provides cushioning, stability and comfort. Underneath the heel, there is a Merrell Air Cushion, which will absorb all shocks and improve stability for protection. The EVA unit works endlessly to reduce and disperse impact forces away from the foot providing a plush and comfortable feeling with every step. Additionally, the midsole offers a moulded nylon arch shank that provides excellent underfoot protection. This technology protects the underfoot from sharp rocks or objects that you may come across on the trail. A Kinetic Fit BASE removable contoured insole provides extra flexible support

M-Select Grip Outsole

The M-Select Grip is specifically tuned to match your activities. The M-Select Grip outsole roots itself in performance design and materials to deliver durable, highly slip-resistant traction on the wet and dry ground as well as over mixed terrain. The outsole also releases dirt and debris thanks to the specialised lugs. The outsole compound is a tear resistant durable outsole that features a self-cleaning lug design, these features help the shoe grip to anything in any weather. The lugs are all over the outsole with some around the edges that grip for lateral movement and some that are angled allowing them to cut through any terrain.
