Waterproof Full Grain Leather Upper
Surrounding the upper of the Thermo Glacier Mid Waterproof Walking Boots is a full-grain leather upper. When exposed to moisture, the upper of the shoe will wick the moisture away extremely efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the boots have an M Select Dry upper, an impermeable membrane developed by Merrell which is guaranteed to seal moisture out to keep your feet dry. In addition to this, the membrane will let moisture out of it, which will mean that as you begin to sweat, the moisture and warm air that is building up within the boots can escape out, where it is then replaced by cooler air from outside of the boots. This constant process will keep you feeling dry and ventilated over a long period of time. Extremely thick material covers the toes and the rearfoot, providing solid protection from any bumps or knocks that you might receive when you are out on the technical trails. In addition to this, there is a protective rubber toe cap which will absorb shocks and protect the forefoot. Within the boot, there is a Primaloft Gold fleece lining. This soft lining will keep you feeling extremely warm and comfortable in the coldest of conditions. As well as this, there is a 1.5mm Primaloft Aerogel over-the-toe insulation. This will trap in air where you need it most, with the insulation remaining effective even when compressed. A firm and traditional lacing system runs all the way up the feet, with metal hooks that will guarantee that you will be able to achieve a firm and comfortable fit. A medial zip will allow you to quickly adjust for an easy removal of the boots. A bellows tongue will feel soft and comfortable against the ankle, whilst it will also provide protection by keeping all debris out. A soft and padded ankle collar will feel comfortable on the foot, with a reduced risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing. Within the boot, there is a Kinetic Fit Base removable contoured insole. This will provide you with soft and flexible support, with underfoot comfort guaranteed. As well as this, the insole is heat-reflecting, which will radiate heat back towards the feet. This will over time provide you with exceptional retention of heat, maintaining comfort on the coldest of days. With M-Select Fresh, the upper will naturally eliminate sweat and its odour-causing bacteria with reactive, friendly microbes that break down perspiration on contact.
Compression Moulded EVA Midsole
The compression moulded platform in the midsole features anatomically-inspired dual-directional flex grooves that support the natural motion of the foot. This technology promotes upward and downward flexibility for agility and stability on uneven terrain. The EVA unit works endlessly to reduce and disperse impact forces away from the foot providing a plush and comfortable feeling with every step. Additionally, the midsole offers a moulded nylon arch shank that provides excellent underfoot protection. This technology protects the underfoot from sharp rocks or objects that you may come across on the trail.
Vibram Arctic Grip Outsole
The Vibram Arctic Grip is the most advanced cold weather gripping system ever created by Vibram, providing 3x more traction on wet, icy surfaces compared to other outsole systems. In addition, the Flex-Connect system stretches its way onto the outsole which provides a sticky, durable rubber outsole with skeleton-like lugs and flex grooves that move with the foot. this system offers a full range of flexibility for superior grip and traction on wet or dry trails.
