The Wave Mujin 5 offers XtaRide and Wave technology to give you an adaptive fit for multiple surfaces, whilst the integrated DynamotionFit creates perfect comfort.
AirMesh Upper
AirMesh is used in the construction of the upper as it's extremely lightweight and comfortable. The mesh encases each foot in breathable comfort allowing air to fully permeate the entire upper. This construction provides a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air that resides during intense activity.
In addition, a DynamotionFit system is added by Mizuno which uses the latest motion capture and biomechanics technology, Mizuno's blueprint was designed to engineer shoes that work with the foot's gait cycle. A synthetic overlay system wraps around the mesh and protects it from trail hazards. The overlays enhance durability while out on the trail as well as provide an optimised fit and feel when running. Lastly, Mesh is added to the collar and tongue to enhance comfort and provide superb ventilation for when the temperatures start to rise.
Wave Technology Midsole
Mizuno have used their innovative wave technology in the Ibuki which uniformly disperses shock throughout the sole, providing excellent cushioning and enhanced stability. The Mizuno wave provides flexibility in one direction and support in the other. The wave absorbs the shock without compromising the comfort or cushioning while the initial shock is then transferred back to guide the athlete onto their next movement. The Mizuno wave presents partial deformation and provides dynamic support to stabilize and guide the foot forward for better gait efficiency.
Furthermore, the midsole harnesses Mizuno's innovative AP+ midsole compound. AP+ guarantees an amazing ride providing cushioning and comfort levels that just go on feeling new due to a huge improvement in durability. Sat between the midsole and outsole is an ESS rock plate that provides excellent underfoot protection from sharp rocks and other trail hazards.
Michelin Outsole
The outsole of the Wave Mujin 5 is constructed from a Michelin rubber. This outsole delivers unprecedented traction and grip across all surfaces. Working in tandem with the outsole rubber Mizuno have added their XtaRide lug construction which is their own technical trail concept. This concept encompasses Xtatic lugs and Xtatic grooves to help adapt and work in perfect harmony, getting the best possible results on unpredictable trail.
