AirMesh Upper
The upper of the Wave Medal 5 has been constructed using AirMesh material. AirMesh works by actively and efficiently wicking away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture to leave your feet feeling cool, dry and comfortable as you perform. Additionally, cool air is encouraged to circulate, creating a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Synthetic overlays are situated throughout the upper for a durable, abrasion-resistant and supportive feel. The overlays guard against friction and irritation such as chafing. A padded tongue and heel further enhance the comfort while a traditional lacing system offers a secure, locked-in feel. Rounding off the upper is an anatomically moulded removable cup insole which maximises comfort and support, especially for table tennis movements.
Wave Plate Midsole
A Mizuno Wave Plate resides in the midsole of the shoe to ensure optimum cushioning and stability for sharp, aggressive movements. Having the exceptional cushioning and comfort offers a more responsive feel, improving the overall performance. An SR touch insert located in the forefoot supports quick and powerful movements to give you the edge on court.
Non-Marking Rubber Outsole
The non-marking rubber outsole is ideal for indoor surfaces as it does not damage or scuff. Optimal grip and traction is also provided by the outsole, ensuring a firm, assured footing. Working alongside the rubber is Mizuno's signature Dynamotion Groove technology.
