Mountain Equipment Citadel Jacket
Thrive in the cold, with the Citadel you can push through wet, icy conditions in comfort.
Designed for tackling the worst of Scottish weather, the Citadel makes high humidity, freezing temperatures, driving snow and gale-force winds a breeze. With a slightly longer, ultra-protective cut it still maintains the mobility to second a steep pitch or continue moving across technical terrain as conditions deteriorate and darkness falls. This jacket has been constructed with GORE-TEX Windstopper for the outer shell. This membrane is highly breathable yet prevents heat loss and keeps out the cold, all whilst being water resistant. The insulation is Primaloft Gold Hi-Loft Ultra with Cross Core technology, the best synthetic fill for wet weather, it is highly thermally efficient even when wet, fast drying and resilient in the face of constant packing and unpacking - it remains mobile enough for seconding steep pitches of climbing and wearing for long periods. The hybrid construction envelopes the inner with the protective outer to increase the efficiency of the inner layer. Cut with a Mountain Equipment Mountain Insulated Fit, it can be worn with ease over other layers when required. A Super Alpine HC Insulated Hood provides extra coverage when needed, it is fully adjustable and helmet-compatible. The wired hood visor helps you to maintain a wide field of vision even in high winds or wearing glasses/goggles. The sleeves feature internal elastication at the cuff to keep the heat in, the cold out, and to make layering with gloves easy. Plenty of storage is provided too, with two outer zipped hand pockets, two zipper outer chest pockets, and two inner zipped pockets for secure storage. This means you can tuck your GPS or gloves away quickly and easily should you need to, and valuables can be stowed away safely inside the jacket. For maximum versatility, the jacket packs away into a small included stuff sack when not in use, helping to keep bulk to a minimum.
