Textile Mesh Upper

Designed to provide lightweight support on the trails, the Montrail F.K.T Trail Running Shoes have been constructed using a textile mesh upper. The lightweight mesh swathes the midfoot to support the foot and increase ventilation to keep you cool. The mesh allows cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, at the same time allowing hot, humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. The increase in airflow creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in and ensures you remain comfortable when your session heats up. Supportive welded overlays have also been used on the upper to provide extra protection and resistance to abrasion, debris or sharp objects you may encounter while trail running. To ensure structure and support, the upper also features a power-mesh sock and secondary lace cage. The power-mesh sock sits comfortably against the skin and supports the foot as it moves to ensure complete comfort at all times whilst the cage locks down the midfoot for a supportive fit. Completing the upper is a lacing system which can be tightened to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

Techlite Midsole

The midsole of the Montrail F.K.T is designed to provide responsive cushioning. Techlite provides superior cushioning, impact absorption and high energy return to ensure you're ready for the unbeaten path. The midsole has been constructed using a tri-density trail reaction system which integrates different midsole technologies to bring you a midsole specifically designed for tough trails. On the bottom layer, a TPU foam exists to provide cushioning and shock absorptions. The TPU foam absorbs shocks as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces to reduce the impact placed upon your foot and joints; the foam also keeps your foot stable on uneven terrain. A mid-density EVA is layered on top of the TPU foam to provide soft and stable cushioning that allows you to go further for longer. The EVA is generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. Completing the tri-layer is a trail shield protection plate that ensures a smooth ride on uneven terrain. The protection plate provides torsion rigidity and tough forefoot protection for the trails.

Omni Grip Outsole

Developed to hold tight on any terrain, the outsole of the Montrail F.K.T Trail Running Shoes have been constructed using omni grip. Omni grip is an advanced high traction outsole that ensures long-lasting grip on varied terrain. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. It is also highly durable meaning no matter what you throw at it, the F.K.T will perform time and time again. This high traction rubber promotes grip on a multitude of surfaces while delivering the durability you need to go the distance. Completing the outsole are multi-directional lugs which provide meaningful traction on tough terrain. The lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
