Montane Quattro Fusion Jacket

One our most technical and innovative products yet, developed using thermal imaging data produced during activities in cold, wet conditions, the Quattro Fusion Jacket sets the standard for critical attention to detail. With a full set of technical features aimed at alpinists and using a combination of the highest performing fabrics available (POLARTEC® Alpha Direct fleece, PERTEX® QUANTUM PRO with DIAMOND FUSE, PERTEX® QUANTUM AIR and 800+ fill power premium goose down), the Quattro Fusion Jacket offers insulation, wind protection and breathability in one unique package.

Construction

The Quattro Fusion Jacket from Montane is with a down fill which it encased with Pertex Quantum Pro with Diamond Fuse. This is a supremely lightweight yet tough nylon rip-stop fabric, which gives windproof protection and the benefit of light rain resistance through a Durable Water Repellency. The core front of the body, upper area of the arms and the side panels are filled with a Micro-baffled Feather and Down Titanium insulation which is water resistant, Fluorocarbon-free and super lightweight. The lining is made from a PEAQ down. This material was specifically chosen as it is extremely soft and comfortable against the skin, is fast drying and it allows cool air to flow through the fabric at the same time as releasing warmer air. This can also improve the wearer's comfort and keep them dry and cool. A Polartec Alpha Fleece has been added to the back, hood, forearm and lower side panel areas on this jacket. This material is specifically placed in key zones to improve warmth and comfort. The excellent stretch properties allow for full freedom of movement and the Wicking action properties allow the fabric to draw excess sweat and moisture away from the skin and moves it to outer fabric layers where it can be easily evaporated, creating a cool and dry environment inside of the jacket. The fleece areas are covered with a Pertex Quantum Air material which provides these key areas with protection from the wind.

Patterning And Design

The Hybrid body-mapped design of this jacket is based on thermal imaging data which was taken in laboratory conditions with Montane athletes to simulate wet and cold conditions in both active and static situations to help regulate the body's temperature. The articulated arms allow full freedom of movement and help to prevent the wearer feeling uncomfortable and restricted. The hem is specifically tailored to stay in place which can prevent cold air getting inside of the jacket and warm air being released.

Hood Configuration

The hood is fully adjustable to allow the wearer the exact fit they require and is fully compatible with a climbing helmet. The hood is also insulated to keep the head and neck area warm like the rest of the body. The wired edge peak is superbly durable and can be bent and adjusted easily to meet the wearer's requirements. Another feature the hood offers is that it can be rolled down and stowed away when it is not needed, ideal for windy weather conditions.

Pocket, Cuff And Sleeve Configuration

Two A-Line hand warmer pockets have been added to the jacket which works as a compartment to place your hands on windy days to protect them from the cold weather. The pockets also work as storage space for essential items you may require on your journeys. A concealed chest pocket has also been added to the jacket which provides easily accessible storage space for small essentials. The low bulk cuffs have an internal lycra closure system which provides a secure, snug fit and helps to prevent heat loss. The hem of this jacket is adjustable and uses a two-sided pinchable drawcord which is super easy to use and adjust, allowing the wearer to choose the fit around the hem for a fully comfortable wear.

Center Front Zip

The center front zip uses a full-length two-way YKK zip which allows easy access to climbing or rucksack harness. A storm flap has been placed behind the zip which uses press studs at the hem to secure the flap and to prevent weather entry. A roll over chin guard has been added to the top of the zipper which is lined with brushed fine micro fleece for comfort next to the mouth and chin.
