Montane Featherlite 30 Litre Backpack
With pure lightweight at its core, the Featherlite 30 backpack oozes minimalism without compromising on all day comfort or functionality. This super lightweight 685g overnight or full mountain day-pack features the Montane Comfort Air Back System.
The Comfort Air Back System a well-padded, fast-drying, supportive back system that can be stripped down further to save weight. It can pack into its own lid for use as a secondary/summit pack. Engineered to include every feature needed but with a lightweight focus, the Featherlite 30 is ideal for the technical user who moves fast and light.
Construction
Constructed from 100 Denier triple rip-stop Raptor Featherlite fabric in the main body which features an improved strength to weight ratio through the use of Robic filaments. It also benefits from a specially enhanced PU coating that increases abrasion resistance and tear strength. Additionally, Monfort Air Back System in the shoulder straps and hip fins feature contact air mesh plus for all-day comfort and a quick dry time. The Granite stretch skirt lid side panels give a clean fabric hugging lid closure whilst the super lightweight Halo lining fabric has a 1m hydrostatic head and offers additional protection to the contents of the backpack.
Patterning, Design And Back System
The backpack offers a minimal seam theme that increases the strength of the pack and reduces weight. The entire pack stuffs away into its own lid for use as a secondary or summit pack, whilst the ultra comfortable Montane Comfort Air Back System with integrated air channels and contact air mesh ensures ventilation to the key places where and when you need it. This also provides structure and a quick dry time for all day comfort.
Harness Configuration
Through the harness configuration the shoulder straps have been specifically engineered for climbers to allow unrestricted movement when reaching and stretching during climbs.Top tension straps allow the pack weight to pull it closer to the body and control pack stability. The chest harness with an off-centre buckle which reduces bulk across the sternum and is easy to use with gloves or mitts keeping you from taking them off during harsh weather conditions.
Additionally, a unique elasticated chest strap allows for unrestricted breathing during exertion, whilst an integrated waist belt and adjustment pulls the pack closer to the user in one easy movement.
Pocket Configuration
A buddy pocket on the front allows quick access to items whilst on the move, the backpack also features an internal security pocket featuring a vertical upside down zippered entry preventing coin and key loss. Hip fin pockets offer extra storage space for quick access when on the move, whilst stretch bucket side pockets provide external storage of water bottles and larger items that need to be accessible.
Compression
The top single hand side compression straps offer effective compression and help provide additional stability, whilst space saving efficient top lid front pull that allows for good vertical pack compression. The internal top compression over the mouth opening offers secure rope storage if needed.
Other Features
Other features of the backpack include a stowable dual walking pole attachment point at the base of the pack, an integrated pole attachment to the top compression webbing straps for firm lock down of poles during dynamic body movement and for effective storage when not in use. Additionally, the backpack features an internal H20 Pocket for rehydration and an H2O top right tube opening and arm harness tube attachment point so you can feed a tube for water throughout allowing you to hydrate whilst on the move.
