The outershell features Pertex's signature Microlight fabrication which delivers supreme protection against wet weather conditions. Pertex encourages rapid moisture management so you can remain dry on the inside as well as the outside, it works to disperse moisture over a broad area for fast evaporation, keeping you dry and comfortable at all times. Offering superior insulating fabrics, Pertex maintains loft without adding bulk and ensures optimal thermal efficiency to keep the body's core temperature stabilised at all times. Polartec Alpha has also been used in the jacket to provide breathable warmth. The super breathable insulation works to keep you warm without the added bulk. The insulation protects against harsh weather conditions keeping you warm and comfortable whilst still allowing superior ventilation. The fabrication traps heat within its fibres to keep your body temperature stabilised when the cold weather strikes. A stretch bound face aperture and a close fitting hood designed to fit over winter headwear whilst the adjustable hem as the drawcord can be tightened or loosened depending on your own requirements. Low profile stretch bound cuffs allow for maximum mobility and a full range of motion. The cuffs also help to retain warmth and have a next-to-skin, comfortable feel. A full-length two-way YKK reverse coil front zip allows easy access to your climbing or rucksack harness. An internal storm flap behind the centre front zip together with press stud helps to secure the hem and prevent further weather entry. A micro fleece lined beard guard provides additional warmth without causing distraction or irritation such as chafing. Two A-line hand-warmer pockets with YKK reverse coil zips positioned well clear of backpack or climbing harness belt. The chest contains a large YKK reverse coil zipped pocket. This is handy for storing a GPS or map to help on expeditions as well as other small, essential items you may need. Ergonomic lightweight zip pullers make use easier when wearing gloves so you don't lose heat or have to expose your hands to the cold just to pull the zip up or down.
