Montane Ajax GORE-TEX Jacket

Firstly, the Ajax Jacket is constructed from GORE-TEX fabric for durable waterproof, windproof and extremely breathable weatherproof protection. GORE-TEX 40 Denier is utilised in the main body, providing highly breathable performance for high aerobic activities. GORE-TEX 70 Denier Rip-Stop reinforcement fabric is utilised in the shoulders and hip area for durable abrasion resistance when wearing a rucksack or harness. In addition, the jacket has articulated arms for superb unrestricted movement and is specifically tailored to prevent the hem lifting while you reach. A dropped back hem offers enhanced weather protection and additional coverage, while a fully adjustable climbing helmet-compatible hood is designed to fit comfortably with warm headwear and a helmet. The hood offers an adjustable face aperture with internal cord exits, rear hood volume compression for a close fit around the head, stiffened hood peak that gives stability and a wired edge that allows adjustability. An internal elastic loop and hook on the rear of the hood compression drawcord allow the hood to be rolled down and stowed away whilst not in use while a tall collar offers storm protection to the face.
The jacket features a variety of pockets to help aid with essential and valuable items stay safe while being quickly accessible. Two map-sized A-line hand pockets with YKK matte Aquaguard zips are positioned clear of a backpack hip belt or climbing harness so you can still access the contents without having to move or adjust external equipment. A zipped chest pocket with YKK matte Aquaguard is designed to fit a GPS or mobile phone without bouncing during movement. All the pockets feature ergonomic lightweight zip pullers to make use easier when wearing gloves. The jacket boasts a full-length YKK Aquaguard front zip that is highly water-resistant, allows easy layering and puts you in control of the ventilation. Furthermore, the front zip features an internal storm guard that provides additional weather protection and prevents the weather from getting into the jacket. A rollover chinguard lined with brushed fine microfleece offers excellent comfort and prevents the cold zip from touching the sensitive skin around the chin, lips and face. The Ajax jacket provides you with shaped, easy to use cuffs with adjustable hook and loop tabs for a close fit around the wrists or gloves, while an adjustable hem with cinchable drawcord offers much-needed adjustability.
