Fantom Fit Upper
The New Balance MD800v5 Running Spikes is constructed with Fantom Fit which is a skeletally engineered upper which is created by fusing a lightweight synthetic performance mesh with a thicker, supportive synthetic layer. The no-sew process involves placing support in target areas while keeping an overall lightweight and breathable feel. The Fantom Fit is designed to function much like it sounds: the construction is so lightweight and minimal that it's hard to tell you're wearing shoes, but at the same time it delivers enough support to keep wearers protected and efficient during runs. The result is an incredibly lightweight package that forms to the wearer's foot thanks to supportive overlays in key areas. The upper is also developed with a mono mesh to provide additional ventilation and a laser cut film pattern for added aesthetic.
REVlite Midsole
The midsole showcases one of New Balance's best foams in the REVlite. It is made of really sturdy and responsive material at 30% less weight than most of New Balance's cushioning materials. The full-length REVlite makes cushioning consistent and contributes to the soft feel of the MD800v5.
Pebax Plate Outsole
With a 6 spike configuration provides the best possible traction even on the most challenging terrain. The 6 spike Pebax plate offers a high-strength thermoplastic polymer outsole with great flexibility and impact resistant properties for long-lasting durability, while also providing the perfect balance of traction, flexibility, and speed.
