Engineered Jacquard Mesh Upper
The engineered jacquard mesh pairs with the VL-6 last for a sleek midfoot fit and shape. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the entire upper providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air. This unique design wraps each foot in breathable comfort allowing you to feel lightweight, supported and comfortable. Additionally, A no-sew construction on the upper is used to provide lightweight protection while reducing irritation at the same time, preventing any chafing or skin irritation during high-intensity exercise.
This speed orientated upper features a bootie construction for a fleek midfoot fit and a thin external heel counter which showcases modern branding while providing lightweight structure. This innovative technology locks the heel in place while running preventing any in shoe slipping from occurring. Furthermore, an external TPU foxing offers a sock-like fit and second skin comfort, allowing you to feel with one with the shoes which in turn enhances your game to an all new level.
REVlite and FuelCell Midsole
The midsole interfaces FuelCell and REVlite in a geometrically intelligent manner to optimise cushioning, responsiveness and underfoot feel. Recessed REVlite foam in the heel brings the foot closer to FuelCell at impact, whereas the forefoot zone is cored out for direct contact at toe-off for increased responsiveness.
Powered by nitrogen-injected forefoot midsole technology, the new FuelCell impulse is designed to provide athletes with a fast-feeling ride and a bold new attitude. This newest model in New Balance's collection combines speed-invoking technology with fashion-forward aesthetics for a powerful running experience. Furthermore, the FuelCell Impulse provides a dynamic ride thanks to two distinct FuelCell parts in the forefoot surrounded by a REVlite midsole. Lightweight Rubber Outsole
The FuelCell Impulse incorporates a new outsole that features a strategic launch angle configuration, aligning the outsole traction with predominant flex direction at toe off. The average runner average push off angle is 10 degrees which New Balance have come across during data-driven analyses, allowing them to create an outsole that gives you the best possible chance of performing at a higher level.
The main idea is that very few people actually run with their feet truly parallel. With the lunch angle, New Balance has aligned the outsole traction with the average foot rotation to provide traction for this more natural angle of toe off. In addition to all of this, New Balance doesn't sacrifice durability or lightweight while adding this new feature the shoes. The outsole still provides superb traction and durability in a variety of weather conditions, meaning you can truly perform to the best of your ability.
