Mesh Upper
Designed to provide lightweight comfort on race day, the New Balance XC 7 Running Spikes have been constructed using a breathable mesh upper. The lightweight mesh allows cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, at the same time allowing hot humid air to escape; this creates a perfect microclimate for your skin to thrive in. The increases in airflow allow you to remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. To ensure a reliable and secure fit, the upper features a traditional tongue and collar construction. The tongue sits comfortably against the skin and reduces the risk of chafing and irritation so you can go further for longer in complete comfort. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage.
REVlite Midsole
REVlite resides in the midsole to supply resilient underfoot cushioning. The innovative foam compound provides the same responsiveness and durability of New Balance foams 30% heavier, offering a feathery ride that doesn't minimise construction or sacrifice underfoot cushioning and stability. Light in weight and low in profile, it helps to spare your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces.
Lugged Rubber Outsole
The lugged, energetic outsole is designed to maintain a high level of traction at all times, allowing you to stay grounded when running over rough terrain. The XC 7 offers versatility as the spikes can be removed so you can be ready for the track, trail, mud or pavement at any time.
**You don't want to feel your toe cramped up against the front of the shoe. A spike should feel like it was meant for your foot, a little more snug than a training shoe feels so we would recommend half a size up on normal shoes**
