Now you can take the path less travelLed in the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail GORE-TEX. Ready for wet-weather and tough terrain, the GORE-TEX upper is weatherized to help keep your feet dry. Double Zoom Air units underfoot offer a springy feel, while an aggressive traction pattern helps you keep your footing wherever you run.
GORE-TEX Upper
Constructed with a mesh and synthetic upper, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 strikes the perfect balance between breathability and durability when out on the trail. Perforations in the fabric increase airflow to the forefoot and arch creating a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. Synthetic overlays increase the durability of the shoe against the treacherous trails protecting both your feet and shoes against bumps and grazes. Overlay forms around the eyelets integrate with a traditional lacing system to wrap the midfoot and arch in a dynamic fit and secure lockdown; anchoring the midsole and reducing in-shoe slippage, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail delivers stable, smooth strides for a distraction-free ride. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. The GORE-TEX Invisible Fit construction has been specially integrated into the upper to reduce pressure points, wrinkles and noise. This results in a true fit thats lighter, more flexible and more comfortable than ordinary GORE-TEX products. The improved wider forefoot provides essential extra room allowing feet to splay and swell naturally for a comfortable, non-restrictive fit. A reduced tongue weight wraps around the foot for a streamlined fit, plus a heel collar that tapers away around the Achilles tendon for increased comfort and unrestricted natural movement. The bottom eyelet has been moved up to open up the forefoot flex zone, promoting natural splay and therefore a more efficient push-off.
Zoom Air Midsole
A high-resiliency sockliner lies atop a feathery midsole as an extra layer of step-in, anatomical comfort and lightweight support. Premium Cushlon ST foam makes up the main midsole; this soft and springy platform of responsiveness helps to attenuate shock, sparing your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces. Embedded within the generous Cushlon platform, and complementing its reactive nature, is Zoom Air units located in the heel and forefoot. This low-profile cushioning feature located in the heel and forefoot combine pressurised air with internal fibres to deliver a responsive cushioning that springs back fast, so you can move faster.
Durable Rubber Outsole
Made to withstand every challenge thrown its' way, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 is constructed from a durable rubber compound that can tackle challenging and tricky terrain with ease. Opposing lugs on the outsole are designed to provide optimum traction from the road to trail and providing exceptional grip on those uphill climbs. A rubber crash rail on the lateral side of the outsole acts as a durable cushioning device at contact; segmented to enhance flexibility, it encourages an even transition from heel-strike through to toe-off. To improve grip, grooves have been cut from the crash rail; horizontal-facing, they produce a stable base with increased traction. Small cutouts across the outsole expose the midsole foam to create a type of flex groove, promoting natural foot flexion whilst reducing weight. The heel is bevelled to optimise the initial touchdown, promoting a smooth transition to midstance. High-abrasion rubber at the rearfoot adds durability, resisting the traumas of ground-contact to provide you with reliable grip.
