Nike Air Zoom Vomero 15 Women's Running Shoes
Your trusted favorite returns. The Nike Air Zoom Vomero 15 is back with updated cushioning and a tough outsole for traction. Its look is inspired by the Vomero 5, combining a classic design with the innovation you want for a durable shoe.
Breathable Mesh Upper
A mesh-knit uppers will encase each foot in breathable comfort. Perforations in the fabric increase airflow, creating a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. In addition, a Dynamic fit technology is added and combines flywire cables and soft foam for an adaptive, supportive fit in the midfoot. The cables hug and hold as you tighten the laces, reducing in-shoe slippage so that you can enjoy smooth, distraction-free strides. They're wider than traditional flywire cables, so they lay flat while still stabilising your foot, reducing the risk of chafing and skin irritation. Touch points at the tongue and collar deliver comfort for longer runs. The padded collar and foam pods inside the collar hugs and cradles the ankle, supplementing the Vomero's pillowy nature by supplying soft support. Lastly, a notched and padded tongue gives a stable and secure fit while protecting the top of the foot from uncomfortable lace pressure.
ZoomX Midsole
Nike ZoomX foam delivers Nike Running's greatest energy return yet, and Vomero 15 adds more ZoomX for responsive comfort on race day. Ultra-light and super-responsive, the midsole material delivers Nike's greatest energy return yet; it absorbs impact and then expels it back out for a bounce-like effect. This energy-return technology reduces the use of superfluous muscle power, diminishing fatigue and enhancing performance, keeping you going for longer. The revolutionary ZoomX foam is manufactured from Pebax, a product conventionally used in plastic bridges and other moulded parts, and yields cushioning that is not only lightweight but soft AND springy. Until now, these three characteristics (collectively) have proven nearly impossible to achieve. Pebax has a lower density than some thermoplastic alternatives and this makes it lighter, flexible and more impact-resistant, whilst giving it a higher capacity for energy-return. When blown into a foam these properties remain, gifting you with a lively underfoot feeling that encourages you to run fast. Signalling the incredible resilience of ZoomX, the tiny creases that occur on every midsole do not have an impact on the foam's performance; these beauty marks are a result of the autoclave process which places the foam under extreme heat and pressure. The ZoomX sheets are then compressed in a Phylon preform which shapes the midsole parts. Because the special foam is so lightweight (one third the weight of Cushlon), Nike are able to use more of it to separate your foot from the road; this means you get a thick and supportive midsole that will spare your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving concrete. A distinctive, aerodynamic heel is designed to delay air separation and reduce drag, tapering to banish every barrier between you and your top speed.
Additionally, situated in the midsole is the full-length Zoom Air Unit that is positioned closer to the bottom of the shoe, so you can feel more of the react technology underfoot, but you still get the snappy sensation that comes along with full midsole compounds. Zoom Air Technology combines pressurised air with internal fibres to deliver responsive cushioning that springs back fast, so you can move faster. Its advantage is that, as well as providing excellent impact protection, it boasts a super lightweight and low-profile design which lets your feet sit closer to the ground, enhancing proprioception so that you can run more efficiently. Finally, a heel clip helps keep your foot secure. It's built to handle the rigors of each run, creating a dependable shoe that supports your miles.
Durable Foam Outsole
A durable foam outsole completes the Vomero 15, adding another dimension of softness to this great distance option. Flex grooves adorn the underside of the shoe, promoting natural foot flexion for an uncaged feel. The foam crash rail on the lateral side of the outsole extends from the toe to the heel and acts as a cushioning device at contact, encouraging an even transition from heel-strike through to toe-off. Rubber covers the heel to increase the shoe's durability, resisting the traumas of heel-strike to provide you with a long-lasting running buddy. Lastly, the heel is bevelled to optimise the initial touchdown, promoting a smooth transition to midstance.
