Shield Upper
The upper of the Winflo 9 Shield has been designed to withstand the elements so you don't need to worry about the weather getting between you and your miles. It has been crafted with a water-repellent knit material that seals out water and provides a glove-like comfortable fit. Skins around high-risk water seepage areas reinforce the weather resistance, so toes stay dry and comfortable. AEROLOFT Technology inspired insulation in the upper keeps feet toasty and cosy without overheating. A gusseted tongue adds another layer of defence against the elements and the back of the tongue is also insulated, so the tops of your feet stay comfortable. A heathered lining keeps feet cosy with a soft fleece feel, and a traditional lacing system locks down the foot for great stability and control.
Air Zoom Midsole
Developed to provide lightweight cushioning and responsive comfort the midsole of the Nike Air Winflo 9 Shield Running Shoes uses Air Zoom unit technology. The technology has been used within the forefoot to cushion the footstrike to offer you the best possible protection and comfort when training. Ensuring lightweight, durable and versatile cushioning, the Air Zoom midsole features pressurised air inside that compresses and recovers as you run. The unit compresses to reduce the force of impact and then recovery allows the air unit to return to its original shape and volume to ensure a soft and responsive base for you to push off from. Every time you land, the powerful Air Zoom cushions absorb your energy and shoot it right back-springing you into your next move. And because Air cushioning is built to last, it keeps giving back, rep after rep after rep. Surrounding the Air Zoom units and complementing their reactive nature is soft and resilient cushlon foam. Mainly featuring in the heel, cushlon helps to absorb impacts and cushions. The soft and springy cushlon platform ensures long-lasting comfort for high-intensity days.
StormTread Outsole
The Storm-Tread outsole provides excellent traction in wet weather conditions. It features textures inspired by all-winter tires, so you know they can tackle whatever weather your run takes you into.
