Nike ZoomX Dragonfly XC Cross Country Spikes
The Dragonfly is for the cross-country barrier-breakers, the flurry-finishers who refuse to give in to the elements. It's Nike's fastest distance spike on the track built to go off-road, one that recently made its medal-winning presence known on the world stage. ZoomX foam adds a jolt of energy return while a wider base helps give you peace of mind in inclement conditions.
Engineered Mesh and Vaporweave Upper
An engineered mesh and Vaporweave upper encases each foot in streamlined comfort. Zones of ventilation and structure are engineered into the material; the mesh perforations located at the toe box increase airflow to create a better, healthier environment for your feet to win in, and lightweight support wraps the foot in a firm fit, reducing in-shoe slippage so that you can enjoy smooth, distraction-free strides. Known for its lightweight and low water retention, the Vaporweave fabric keeps the shoe light even when wet. The anatomical toe design follows the natural contours of the foot; it enhances propulsion by increasing space in the forefoot, allowing the toes to splay and push off the ground. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system to help lock the midfoot to reduce excessive movement and the notched laces help to remain firmly fastened.
ZoomX Midsole and Six Spike Configuration
Ultra-light and super-responsive, the midsole material delivers Nike's greatest energy return yet; it absorbs impact and then expels it for a bounce-like effect. This energy-return technology reduces the use of superfluous muscle power, diminishing fatigue and enhancing performance, keeping you going for longer. Embedded within the generous ZoomX midsole, and complimenting its responsive nature, is a full-length carbon fibre plate. Intended to minimise energy loss during toe bend without increasing demand on the calf, it springs up under your heel as you stride forward, yielding the snappy, propulsive sensation that converts into extra-energised strides. The plate is curved at the front, helping give the runner back some energy put in at toe-off. Completing the outsole is a removable six-spike configuration that provides extra grip and traction on cross-country running surfaces, helping to dig deep on the often soggy, muddy ground below.
