Oboz Bridger Mid B-DRY Women's Walking Shoes
While the all-leather upper of the Bridger gives a nod to classic hikers of yore, there's nothing old-fashioned about these stats: a pliable, extra comfortable collar; a lightweight TPU forefoot plate that preserves the shoe's integrity; B-DRY waterproofing; metal hardware and a lightweight, aggressive outsole. Get going now: the Bridger's leather goodness comes with practically no break-in time.
Upper
A Nubuck leather upper will encase your feet in supple, waterproof comfort; supporting you as you tackle tricky trails. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, Oboz introduces B-DRY. B-DRY shoes keep feet dry through creeks, mud, rain and sweat, thanks to three key components:
The crux is Oboz' proprietary tape-sealed, polyurethane film bootie, which waterproofs shoes but still lets sweat escape, so your feet don't develop that distracting clammy feeling. Second, all of Oboz' B-DRY shoes come with hydrophobic upper materials, meaning the rest of the shoe won't absorb water, and feet won't become highly saturated and heavy after walking through streams. And finally, the textile lining inside B-DRY boots wicks sweat away, so feet stay dry from the inside out. A moulded heel counter helps the shoes maintain a snug, comfortable hold over time; gripping your feet, mile after mile. The moulded rubber toe cap reinforces the shoe's hard wearing, protective state; guarding your feet against jutting roots, rocks and general trail hazards.
Midsole
In the cushty midsole, a BFit Deluxe insole lies atop a dual density EVA platform. The anatomically-designed insole maximizes stability and support in the shoes; with a supportive arch and a deep cushioning heel cup. Triple-density EVA throughout provides both cushioning and durability, and a shot of urethane under the metatarsals and heels adds extra protection to high-strike zones; designed to keep your feet happy on long distance days. The dual density EVA midsole uses a firmer density EVA on the medial side of the shoe, creating a 'medial post'. This barrier to compression helps to support the arch; stopping excessive, inward rolling of the foot and stabilising the wearer's stride. Both shock absorbing elements help to spare your joints as you make risky leaps and landings on hard, unforgiving terrain.
Outsole
A Granite Peak outsole completes the Oboz Bridger. This quintessential hiking outsole, with its toothy side lugs that hug off-camber trails, and 4mm directional lugs studding the sole, gives you traction and stability on every surface. A nylon shank exists to help decrease the load sustained by your feet and calves over the course of ascents and descents; reducing muscle fatigue and helping you to stay motivated. A lightweight TPU chassis acts as featherweight, underfoot armour; boosting stability and preventing stone bruising without inhibiting flex. Don't let your footwear dictate where you walk to.
