Engineered Mesh Upper
Providing you with a flexible construction and reduced weight, the Cloudhorizon Waterproof utilises a soft, engineered mesh upper. The mesh allows cool air to flow whilst at the same time, removing unwanted warm air to help regulate temperature, and featuring a flexible structure enables your feet to bend and flex more naturally. To provide feet with high-performance waterproofing, the Cloudhorizon utilises a waterproof membrane, keeping your feet dry and protected in sudden downpours and muddy puddles. The moisture-wicking properties prevent a build-up of sweat, keeping feet dry when things start to heat up. The upper utilises overlays to add durability and keep feet more protected. The Cloudhorizon is built with a hiking-specific last and a wider toe box for comfort on long adventures. Finally, a traditional lace-up system works to lock down the midfoot, providing you with a stable, secure ride, and preventing in-shoe slipping from occurring.
Advanced Midsole and Outsole
Utilising On's unique CloudTec Phase technology, the Cloudhorizon Waterproof has a midsole specifically optimised for hiking. The compound has shock-absorbing properties to help prevent injuries or discomfort from occurring when striking down onto hard, changing surfaces, and adapting well to your walking style. Working alongside this is On's Helion superfoam ensuring outstanding energy return and excellent underfoot cushioning, to keep feet feeling soft and fresh and provide you with a soft landing on trails. CloudTec's unique construction works by collapsing the cushioning when stepping down, expanding the foam in a forward rolling motion and propelling heel strikers forward. The Cloudhorizon also utilises a rocker-shaped geometry to enhance forward propulsion.
Working to provide superior grip and traction on constantly changing terrain, the outsole uses Missiongrip rubber. This durable compound provides you with the traction you need on those long adventures and ensures outstanding durability on both wet and dry surfaces, allowing you to enjoy every adventure. The outsole also has a newly updated lug pattern to provide you with outstanding support and stability, keeping you sure-footed when traversing uneven ground.
