The upper of the Salomon S/LAB XA Amphib is constructed with a quick drying single layer open air mesh combined with nylon layer that allows extreme breathability and top abrasion resistance. Fitted with the Sensifit system, it works to cradle the foot by providing a precise and secure fit. Endofit is an internal fit sleeve which is designed to hug the foot in exactly the right places and improves feedback and foot wrapping. Also featuring a quick lace system the Amphib provides a minimalistic and strong lace for a one-pull tightening ensuring you get the shoes on and off with minimal effort. A lace pocket is useful as it allows the laces to be stowed away making sure the laces do not get caught or snagged on any sticks or bushes out on the trail, reducing distractions. Draining windows are added to quickly alleviate the shoe of excess water ensuring your feet don't get overrun when you get out of the water.
Dual Density Compressed EVA Midsole
Fitted with a moulded EVA footbed which provides an excellent next to foot cushioning and anatomical support. The Dual-Density Compression EVA is a high-quality foam that's responsible for cushioning the foot throughout the running session. It's long lasting, so it won't break down easily and is also responsive and springy.
The Dual-Density is a platform design that prevents the foot from wobbling laterally or medially whilst traversing the trail. It basically keeps the mid-sole firm in that respect. but it doesn't limit the flexibility of the sole unit itself. Runners can still appreciate natural movement, especially when gearing towards the toe-off.
Premium Wet Traction Contagrip Outsole
The forefoot section has a section where the rubber compound is slightly thicker and the gripping lugs are slightly more aggressive to give you that traction you need when climbing over objects. This section facilitates better climbing mechanics and surface control, delivering traction whenever it is needed. With the use of multi-directional gripping lugs, it allows the shoe to hold onto different types of surfaces with ease, even on wet surfaces, preventing slippage.
The outsole is made with a premium wet traction contagrip which is a durable rubber compound that covers the platform of the Salomon S/LAB XA Amphib Unisex Trail Running Shoes. It prevents the abrasive trails from causing damage to the underside of the shoes.
