Breathable Mesh Upper
A quick drying breathable mesh upper allows the foot to breathe, keeping it cool and dry as you take on the rough terrain. The Quick-lace System allows for easy on and easy off, whilst the Asymmetrical lacing system delivers a snug and personalized fit, particularly important when tackling rugged terrain. This is covered and wrapped with the SENSIFIT engineering.
In Addition, GORE-TEX extended comfort footwear is guaranteed to keep you dry and offers an extended range of comfort. Engineered to be used during high output activities, Salomon uses GORE-TEX extended comfort footwear in their adventure, racing and mountain running footwear, where superior waterproof protection and enhanced breathability are essential.
The Sensifit system works to cradle the foot providing a precise and secure fit that stabilizes the foot within its surroundings. A tongue cover provides protection against stones and debris from entering the shoe. There is also the added feature of a protective rubber toe cap to provide protection from knocks and abrasions on harder, aggressive terrain.
Injected and Compressed Midsole
The shoe features an Ortholite insole, which combines a specific Ortholite foam and an EVA heel cup. Ortholite foam creates a cooler, drier, well-cushioned environment under the foot. It will not break down or lose effectiveness over time. The EVA heel cups allows for a better heel support and added cushioning, as well as aiding with durability, to create an interior shoe that caters for all the needs and requirements of serious trail runners.
The XA Pro 3D trail shoe also engages the wearer with a injected and compression EVA midsole compound which actively works to absorb ground impact, reducing pressures upon the underfoot for a clean transition through to midstance. The EVA foam then propels you out with the advanced help from the integrated 3D chassis.
The 3D Chassis, Merged between the midsole and the outsole is a low profile advanced chassis that maximize's security, motion control, energy management and push through protection for a high performance, stable and responsive ride.
Contagrip Outsole
The Salomon XA Pro 3D features a Contagrip outsole, providing unique traction technology. With a mix of compound, lob geometry and density, it gives the shoe brilliant grip and durability, regardless of the terrain underneath.
Utilizing differing combinations of harder, softer and grippier Contagrip compounds, Salomon's adventure running outsoles provide the perfect blend of grip and durability to cover a multitude of terrains at high speeds. Designed with specifically positioned forefoot flex grooves and self-cleaning multi-directional lugs, these outsoles are field tested and race proven to dynamically tackle rugged terrains.
