This version of the X Ultra 3 features a full grain leather upper for longer wear and added durability. The leather keeps the feet protected from any debris or sharp objects you may encounter while running as well as minimising the risk of wear and tear of the material. A GORE-TEX Performance Comfort membrane lies beneath the upper to ensure water stays on the outside while perspiration can easily escape from the inside. Located on top of the upper is the Sensifit system which cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug, and virtually customised fit all around the foot. Additionally, a quick lace system provides a minimalistic and strong lace for one-pull tightening ensuring you get the shoes on and off with minimal effort. A lace pocket is useful as it allows the laces to be stowed away making sure the laces do not get caught or snagged on any sticks or bushes out on the trail, reducing distractions. Protection is key while out on the trails, so don't worry when wearing the X Ultra 3 shoes as they feature a protective heel cap for rearfoot stability and a protective rubber toe cap to enhance protection from loose or sharp rocks.
EVA Midsole
Lined with an EVA shaped footbed, it provides excellent cushioning with anatomically designed support. For additional comfort, an Ortholite sockliner is used to create a cooler, drier, healthier and better-cushioned environment under the foot. This material will not break down or lose effectiveness over time. Injected EVA is the main component of the midsole which offers lightweight flexibility. It actively reduces forces pressed upon the underfoot for a smooth stride through the transition with ample of shock dispersion. The format assists with keeping weight down and maximising responsive cushioning, whatever the terrain ahead. Surrounded by foam cushioning is the Advanced Chassis which is placed between the midsole and outsole to maximise motion control, energy management and push through protection for an efficient, stable and responsive ride.
High Traction Contagrip Outsole
Two different types of rubber are stategically placed on the sole for durabiltiy and more grip. Aggressive lugs in the heel area grab the terrain, giving you more control when you're moving along at a healthy stride.
