GORE-TEX when incorporated within footwear offers optimal heat retention, keeping you dry and comfortable when combating outdoor activities. Further technology attached under the GORE-TEX umbrella includes keeping you dry on the outside, preventing water from prohibiting the outer construction.
Upper - longer wear and durability.

Highly durable Split-suede leather materials allow for longer wear and durability and is the feature material employed by Salomon, generating a longer lasting boot that conforms to the wearers feet; a secondary material, textile enables the boot to be quick drying whilst preventing abrasion, further increasing the life span of the boot. Supplemented with water resistant qualities, the boot repels water keeping you dry.
Externally it features Sensifit technology - a system that Wraps to the foot with a precise and secure fit, Sensifit cradles the foot from the midsole to the lace system, providing a stable, precise, snug fit all around the system. Moulded into the shoe, reducing weight and brings more comfort. Due to the low profile of the boot, full freedom of movement with multi-directional flex is enabled. Keeping the overall framework in tact, key placed protective heel cap, protective rubber toe cap and mud guard all act upon torsion, reducing wear and tear to the boots from oncoming rocks and roots.
Midsole - Flexible and Cushioned Compound.
The Ellipse 2 GTX utilises a removable Die cut OrthoLite sockliner on the interior footbed which combines a specific Ortholite foam and an EVA heel cup. Ortholite foam creates a cooler, drier, healthier, better cushioned environment under the foot. It will not break down or lose effectiveness over time. Recycled tire content to protect the environment. EVA heel cups allows for a better heel support and added cushioning.
Supporting mile after mile of trekking, an injected EVA lines the midsole - an industry leader on good merit, EVA is both light and flexible, with a great disposition as a cushioning material. It actively reduces forces pressed upon the underfoot for a smooth stride through transition with ample of shock dispersion. The format assists with keeping weight down and maximising responsive cushioning whatever the terrain ahead.
Outsole - Floor Fighting Traction and Control.
The Ellipse 2 GTX is embedded with Salomon's lightweight advanced chassis, placed between the outsole and midsole, maximizes motion control, energy management and push through protection for an efficient, stable and responsive ride. The Contagrip outsole employed is designed specifically to deliver a greater purchase underfoot on a range of differing terrains, whether that be mountainous terrains or leafy treks, its sticky floor fighting grip is paramount to keeping you stabilised and supported when tackling the trail.
