Salomon Spikecross 5 GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoes

Train through winter with the Spikecross 5 GTX. Salomon have taken the iconic Speedcross and added a complete GORE-TEX bootie for weather and snow protection. They have also used a winter Contagrip compound and added 12 tungsten spikes to the bottom of the sole for confident grip on soft or compact snow, and ice.

The highly durable, waterproof material remains unaffected by water even when under pressure. Using a full GORE-TEX bootie, the shoes provide complete protection from the weather and keep your feet dry from the outside as well as the inside. The Spikecross 5 features Sensifit technology - a system that wraps the foot with a precise and secure fit, Sensifit cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a stable, precise, snug fit all around the system. Another component to the upper is the simple and user-friendly quicklace system, providing a minimalistic and strong lace, for one-pull tightening. This allows for easy on and off, whilst holding the foot comfortably and precisely. Refined over generations, the iconic Speedcross fit and quick lace adjustment offer unmatched precision and comfort. There is also a lace pocket that provides easy storage for the Quicklace lacing system. The stitch-free upper construction provides a smooth, glove-like, fit and feel, whilst anti-debris mesh prevents debris from being trapped between your foot and the footbed, providing you with maximum comfort.

Winter Contagrip Outsole

The Salomon Spikecross 5 Trail Shoe features a Contagrip TA outsole, providing unique traction technology. Built for maximum grip on loose, soft, or rugged uneven surfaces, Contagrip TA uses deep, sharp lugs made from a compound that balances durability and adhesion. The aggressive tread offers superior traction in soft snow, while 12 tungsten spikes bite into compact snow and ice. Designed with specifically positioned carbide tipped spikes inserted into the sole lugs, aggressive grip is assured even on ice, whilst the lug design with deep penetration and multi-directional grip improves traction on softer surfaces like mud, snow or loose dirt.
