Salomon Trailster 2 GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoes

This lightweight shoe will keep your feet comfortable and protected while out on the trail, whatever the pace or terrain. Inspired by our top-performing trail running shoes, the TRAILSTER 2 provides all the grip you need (optimized Contagrip outsole) and a secure foothold with a comfortable, supportive fit.

GORE-TEX Upper

Allowing your feet to feel fresh and stay cool, the Salomon Trailster 2 Trail Running Shoes have been constructed using a single layer mesh. A GORE-TEX membrane is used within the upper of the shoe, and this layer will provide durable waterproofing. Despite blocking all moisture from entering, this doesn't mean that moisture from within cannot escape. Air and vapour from sweat are able to escape out of the shoe, whilst cool air can replace it, which will ensure that you will stay cool within the shoe. The mesh is extremely breathable and allows a steady airflow to enter and exit the shoe, which will work to remove moisture from sweat out of the shoe. Once sweat is removed, the material will dry off quickly, and cooler air will replace it to keep you feeling comfortable. Strategically placed reinforcements also help to protect your feet from obstacles along the trail. They ensure added abrasion resistance agaisnt knocks and help to provide a supportive secure fit.As well as this, a Sensifit system cradles the foot providing a precise and secure fit; located on the top of the upper it provides a secure, snug and virtually customised fit all around the foot. A protective toe cap works to ensure added security by protection the toe from loose rocks and debris. Completing the upper os the Salomon Trailster 2 Trail Running Shoes is a traditional lacing system which works to lock down the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

EnergyCell Midsole

Within the midsole, the shoe has injected and compressed EVA which forms the EnergyCell Midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. The energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. An OrthoLite sockliner also exists underfoot to provide the foot with a cushioned and cooler environment, whilst also reducing the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing.

Contagrip MD Outsole

Ensuring stability and protection on the trails, the outsole of the Salomon Trailster 2 Trail Running Shoes has been constructed using Contagrip MD. Contagrip MD is specifically focused towards long-term wear so is ideal for long-distance runs. Using the most durable compound, it has a lug pattern that works equally well on both hard and smooth or soft and loose surfaces. The full rubber outsole provides premium traction on loose terrain ensuring a solid bond between you and the ground. The Contagrip outsole is built for the widest variety of surfaces; it ensures confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces whilst still offering long-term durability so you can go further for longer with complete confidence in your footwear. As well as this, the outsole also features multidirectional lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs are able to anchor the foot into wet and muddy ground, securing you into place whilst also forming a solid base to push off from.
