GORE-TEX Upper
Constructed using a Nubuck Leather, the Salomon Outward GORE-TEX Walking Boots offer a wider range of protection to help you gain the maximum from your footwear. The soft leather ensures long-lasting comfort yet provides ample protection from loose debris and rocks. The durable nature of the leather minimises the risks of wear and tear leaving you with a boot you can truly rely on. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the boot; supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. A mesh and textile lining also exist on the Outward to provide added ventilation. The mesh allows cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, at the same time allowing hot humid air to escape; this creates a perfect microclimate for your skin to thrive in. A molded sock liner and fine tongue, the shoes provide a soft, cushy fit for lasting comfort whilst the soft collar construction sits comfortably against the skin to reduce the risks of chafing and irritation. A toe cap also exists on the upper to protect the toes from knocks and scrapes. Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can go further for longer in complete comfort.
EnergyCell Midsole
Within the midsole, the shoe has injected and compressed EVA which forms the EnergyCell Midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. The energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. The midsole ensures your feet are protected against unpredictable and rocky terrain as you move through the trails. Completing the midsole is an advanced chassis, which is placed between the outsole and midsole to maximise security, motion control, energy management and push through protection for a high performance, stable and responsive ride.
Contagrip MD Outsole
Ensuring stability and protection on the trails, the outsole of the Outward GORE-TEX Walking Boots has been constructed using Contagrip MD. Contagrip MD is specifically focused towards long-term wear so is ideal for long-distance runs. Using the most durable compound, it has a lug pattern that works equally well on both hard and smooth or soft and loose surfaces. The full rubber outsole provides premium traction on loose terrain ensuring a solid bond between you and the ground. The Contagrip outsole is built for the widest variety of surfaces; it ensures confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces whilst still offering long-term durability so you can go further for longer with complete confidence in your footwear. As well as this, the outsole also features multidirectional lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs are able to anchor the foot into wet and muddy ground, securing you into place whilst also forming a solid base to push off from.
