GORE-TEX Upper

Constructed using a mesh and textile lining, the Salomon X Ultra 3 GORE-TEX Walking Shoes encase each foot in breathable comfort. Perforations in the fabric increase airflow to create a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. The stitch-free upper construction provides a smooth, glove-like fit and feel which sits comfortably against the skin and reduces the risk of chafing and irritability. A Sensifit system cradles the foot providing a precise and secure fit whilst gusseted tongue sits comfortably against the skin and prevents debris from entering inside the shoe. Protection is key while out on the trails, so don't worry when wearing the X Ultra 3 as it features a protective heel cap for rearfoot stability and a protective rubber toe cap to enhance protection from loose or sharp rocks. Completing the upper is a Quick Lacing System which provides a minimalistic and strong lace for a one-pull tightening ensuring you get the shoes on and off with minimal effort. A lace pocket is useful as it allows the laces to be stowed away making sure the laces do not get caught or snagged on any sticks or bushes out on the trail, reducing distractions.

EnergyCell Midsole

Within the midsole, the shoe has injected and compressed EVA which forms the EnergyCell Midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. In addition to this, between the outsole and the midsole, there is a low profile advanced chassis. This will maximise security, motion control and assist energy management, resulting in a high-performing stable and responsive ride. An Ortholite die-cut insole is extremely soft and comfortable and works to wick away moisture keeping the feet cool and dry at all times.

High Traction Contagrip Outsole

The Salomon X Ultra 3 GORE-TEX features a Contagrip outsole, providing unique traction technology. With a mix of compound, lob geometry and density, it gives the boot brilliant grip and durability, regardless of the terrain underneath. Utilising different combinations of harder, softer and grippier Contagrip compounds, Salomon's adventure running outsole provides the perfect blend of grip and durability to cover a multitude of terrains. When you are running on the wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep chevron lugs dig into the ground, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
