Salomon S/LAB X Alpine Carbon 2 GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoes
The Salomon S-Lab X Alp Carbon 2 GTX is the most dynamic boot in the range, with a low-cut and lighter Carbon Edging Chassis. For speed-oriented, professional mountaineers during ridge ascents, easy climbing sections, and glacier crossings.
Anti Debris Mesh
You gotta be light if you want to go uphill fast, and the S/LAB XA combines advanced materials and innovative construction to keep weight down and energy up. Developed with an Anti-Debris Mesh upper, it reduces debris which can be trapped between your foot and the footbed, reducing the risk of discomfort. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. A Sensifit system cradles the foot providing a precise and secure fit so you can enjoy long lasting comfort. If you're in a rush don't worry as the S/LAB XA Alpine is fitted with the Quicklace system which provides a minimalistic and strong lace for one-pull tightening, ensuring easy-on and easy-off, while the lace pocket supplies easy storage for the lacing system. The S/LAB XA Alpine 2 shoe is equipped with a protective ankle pad and synthetic toe cap which protects the feet from loose debris and rocks, while the lycra collar offers enhanced comfort as the stretchable material basically secures the upper and locks down the interior foot-chamber. The upper unit actually has a zip-up gaiter design, which extended to the lower leg. The runner can just manipulate the zipper in order to easily put on or remove the shoe.
EVA Midsole
The midsole is constructed from EVA which provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. For additional comfort, an Ortholite sockliner is used to create a cooler, drier, healthier and better-cushioned environment under the foot. This material will not break down or lose effectiveness over time. The Carbon Chassis is a platform design that prevents the foot from wobbling laterally or medially while traversing the topography. It basically keeps the mid-sole firm in that respect. But it doesn't limit the flexibility of the sole unit itself. Runners can still appreciate natural movement, especially when gearing towards the toe-off.
Contagrip Outsole
Tackle any trails in supreme confidence that you won't be let down by your shoe's grip. Using Contagrip, the outsole is able to form a solid grip between shoe and terrain. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, which means long-term control is guaranteed. When you are on the wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep lugs dig into the ground, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction. The forefoot section has a Climbing Zone, where the rubber compound is slightly thicker and the gripping lugs are slightly more aggressive. This section facilitates better climbing mechanics and surface control, delivering traction whenever it is needed. With the use of multi-directional gripping lugs, it allows the shoe to hold onto different types of surfaces with ease, even on wet surfaces, preventing slippage.
