Salomon Sense Ride 4 GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoes
"This updated version of the all-round SENSE RIDE is just as comfy and responsive with the soft Optivibe cushioning you love. The upper effortlessly optimizes your foothold, especially around the heel, and features really resistant, anti-debris mesh. You'll be ready to take off on new adventures, near and far.
Anti-Debris Mesh
Designed to keep your feet comfortable and protected, the Salomon Sense Ride 4 Trail Running Shoes have been constructed using an anti-debris mesh. The lightweight yet protective mesh upper increases airflow to create a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. The mesh is extremely breathable and allows a steady airflow to enter and exit the shoe, which will work to remove moisture from sweat out of the shoe. Once sweat is removed, the material will dry off quickly, and cooler air will replace it to keep you feeling comfortable. The material on the upper of the shoe is lightweight, which helps keep the overall weight of the shoe down to a minimum. This will allow you to push on and go faster, as you will have less to weigh you down. The mesh is also highly durable and prevents debris from entering inside the shoe so you can enjoy distraction-free strides. Smartly placed protection adds durability and support to the shoe, it ensures peace of mind when running on tough trails and harsh terrain. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX INVISIBLE FIT membrane resides inside the shoe; it integrates with the mesh upper to supply a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. By perfectly matching the GORE-TEX membrane to the footwear upper material, wrinkles and folds are eliminated, reducing pressure points and creating a true-to-size forefoot area. Reduced weight, less water pick-up and faster drying times are among the other benefits of this running shoe technology. As well as this, a Sensifit system cradles the foot providing a precise and secure fit; located on the top of the upper it provides a secure, snug and virtually customised fit all around the foot. Completing the upper is a Quick Lacing System which provides a minimalistic and strong lace for a one-pull tightening ensuring you get the shoes on and off with minimal effort. A lace pocket is useful as it allows the laces to be stowed away making sure the laces do not get caught or snagged on any sticks or bushes out on the trail, reducing distractions.
Optivibe Midsole
Salomon have used their unique Optivibe technology in the midsole to ensure an ultra-smooth ride and long-lasting comfort. By taking inspiration from comfortable road running shoes Salomon decided to create a trail running shoe to equal the amount cushioning that road running shoes possess. The extra cushioning provides a more comfortable ride, especially when striking down on hard, unforgiving surfaces but, it also works to provide vibration-reduction and decoupling which are ideal when running off the beaten path. The Optivibe midsole has been constructed using a combination of foams which work to dampen shocks and propel you forward as you run. This works to reduce vibration upon footstrike and reduce muscle fatigue without affecting the overall ride. So you can go further for longer in complete comfort.
Contagrip MA Outsole
Ensuring all-terrain grip, the outsole of the Salomon Sense Ride 4 has been constructed using Contagrip MA. The full rubber outsole provides premium traction on loose terrain ensuring a solid bond between you and the ground. The Contagrip outsole is built for the widest variety of surfaces; it ensures confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces whilst still offering long-term durability so you can go further for longer with complete confidence in your footwear. As well as this, the outsole also features multidirectional lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs are able to anchor the foot into wet and muddy ground, securing you into place whilst also forming a solid base to push off from. Lastly, a Propfeel Film exists to protect your feet from sharp object and loose rocks on the trail.
