Salomon Quest Element GORE-TEX Women's Walking Boots
The Quest Element GORE-TEX is a hiking boot that lets you follow wild paths and unknown trails with confidence.
GORE-TEX and Nubuck Leather Upper
A huge part of the upper's construction is the GORE-TEX membrane. GORE-TEX is well known for its reliable waterproof properties as well as its superb breathability. This means that all water is blocked from entering through the material but cool air is allowed to flow through at the same time as warm air is being released, creating a cool environment inside of the boot - ensuring dry wear. Nubuck leather is also used in the construction of the upper. This is a superbly hard-wearing material that will protect the foot as well as wrap it snugly for much-needed support. A protective cap has been placed across the heel and toe area of the boot. This will offer much-needed protection to these key areas which could potentially be damaged or feel discomfort if the boot is knocked against rocks, walls and various other loose terrains that are commonly found along the trail. These caps also deliver additional support and stability, helping to hold the foot securely in place inside of the boot. The gusseted tongue allows the boot to sit snugly against the skin without causing irritation and also helps to block dirt and loose debris entering the boot and becoming lodged inside. The bootie construction offers support to the top of the foot and ankle area, reducing the risk of injury and maximising coverage.
EnergyCell Midsole
Within the midsole, the shoe has injected and compressed EVA which forms the EnergyCell Midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. In addition to this, between the outsole and the midsole, there is a new ADV-C chassis. This targets articulations on the outer foot to optimize stability without limiting your mobility, while the higher cut provides extra ankle support, while also keeping the front of the shoe flexible for a more fluid ride. A moulded OrthoLite sockliner is extremely soft and comfortable and works to wick away moisture keeping the feet cool and dry at all times.
High Traction Contagrip
The Quest Element GORE-TEX features a Contagrip outsole, providing unique traction technology. With a mix of compound, lob geometry and density, it gives the shoes brilliant grip and durability, regardless of the terrain underneath. Utilising different combinations of harder, softer and grippier Contagrip compounds, Salomon's adventure running outsole provides the perfect blend of grip and durability to cover a multitude of terrains. Designed with specifically positions forefoot flex grooves and self-cleaning multi-directional lugs, these outsoles are field-tested and proven to dynamically tackle rugged terrains.
