The North Face Hedgehog Futurelight Walking Shoes
The Hedgehogs are The North Face's classic, tried and tested hiking shoes built for versatility and comfort with a lower profile and weight than boots.
Nubuck Leather Upper
Supplying you with a durable layer of protection, the upper of the Hedgehog Futurelight has been created with nubuck leather. This material combined with a PU coating provides long-lasting reliable shoes, that protect your feet from knocks and scrapes. Providing exceptional weather protection the shoes have been fitted with a Futurelight waterproof membrane. The membrane allows air to permeate and vapour to exit the shoes whilst keeping water molecules out. This improves temperature regulation and reduces overheating in changing weather, whilst keeping your feet dry. Abrasion-resistant mesh has also been used to keep the shoes looking in top condition whilst allowing fresh air to flow through the shoes and built-up heat escape, keeping feet cool and comfortable. Completing the upper of the shoes is a traditional lacing system that locks down the midfoot and reduces in-shoe movement.
EVA Midsole
The Hedgehog Futurelight Walking Shoes have been created with a single-density lightweight, high-rebound EVA midsole, to keep your foot cushioned on the trail. The unit reduces impact from hard, unforgiving grounds helping prevent injuries whilst providing underfoot comfort for an enjoyable ride. Increasing comfort underfoot The North Face has included an OrthoLite X35 Hybrid footbed made with 5% recycled rubber content. The shoe's midsole also includes CRADLE heel-stability technology, which guides your gait cycle and supports, stabilises and cushions your foot. An ESS Plate in the midfoot provides extra support on those long days on the trail.
Vibram XS Trek Outsole
Vibram XS TREK is a technical compound that allows great overall performance for multisport, outdoor, mountain bike, snow and water sports. Designed to be flexible the sole works with the foot's movements for a comfortable walk, perfect for long days on the trail. The rubber can cling to wet and dry surfaces, meaning you won't slip or slide around on the trails. It will also make you feel confident that there are no boundaries when off-road. The rubber is extremely tough on the surface and will protect itself from any damage, as it is abrasion-resistant. This will improve the lifespan and long-term functionality of the shoes.
