The North Face Hedgehog GORE-TEX Walking Shoes
The Hedgehogs are The North Face's classic, tried and tested hiking shoes built for versatility and comfort balanced with a lower profile and weight than boots. For this new iteration, they've harnessed a waterproof, highly durable GORE-TEX bootie that stops rain and water from muddy puddles in its tracks.
Mesh and Leather Upper with GORE-TEX Bootie
The upper of the Hedgehog GORE-TEX has been designed with breathable comfort and durability at its core. The upper is made using mesh for high levels of breathability and comfort. The mesh is durable and is reinforced with PU-coated leather and synthetic nubuck leather overlays for support and strength, resisting knocks and scrapes out on the trail. The leather is from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries, ensuring a more eco-conscious production. The highly durable GORE-TEX 3L waterproof bootie (made with recycled materials) within the shoe keeps out water whilst allowing any internal built-up moisture to escape and fresh air to flow in. This keeps your feet dry from the inside and out. A traditional lacing system finishes the upper, locking down the midfoot for control and confidence out on the trail.
EVA Midsole
The Hedgehog GORE-TEX has been created with a single-density lightweight, high-rebound EVA midsole to keep your foot cushioned on the trail. The unit reduces impact from hard, unforgiving grounds, helping prevent injuries whilst providing underfoot comfort for an enjoyable ride. They have a supportive midfoot shank for extra reinforcement and comfort on those longer days out exploring; the toe area gives added stiffness over technical rock, and the heel shape is optimised for comfort with a TPU Cradle.
Vibram XS Trek Outsole
Vibram XS TREK is a technical compound that allows great overall performance for multisport, outdoor, mountain bike, snow and water sports. Designed to be flexible, the sole works with the foot's movements for a comfortable walk, perfect for long days on the trail. The rubber can cling to wet and dry surfaces, meaning you won't slip or slide around on the trails. It will also make you feel confident that there are no boundaries when off-road. The rubber is extremely tough on the surface and will protect itself from any damage, as it is abrasion-resistant. This will improve the lifespan and long-term functionality of the shoes.
