Using sustainable and plant-based materials, the VivoBarefoot Primus II Bio Running Shoes is made from by-products of the field corn food industry and plant-based product to deliver a supremely comfortable, reliable and the least petroleum reliant performance shoe in the world.
Breathable Mesh Upper
Surrounding the upper of the shoe the Primus II Bio has synthetic multi-ply materials which will deliver a constant flow of air in and out of the shoe. This will mean that as soon as you start exercising cooler air is able to enter and ventilate the feet. This constant cycle will work to keep you feeling cool over a long period of time. As you begin to sweat, the material will naturally wick the moisture from sweat away. The mesh is made from Sorono plant-based fibres, making it a greener alternative to competitors. The toe and forefoot are protected by reinforced material, which will absorb bumps and knocks. A firm lacing system coupled with a flat-lying tongue will improve the fit as well as increasing comfort. A 3mm performance insole will provide comfort, and can be removed to achieve a closer to the ground feel. It is made with 10% BLOOM, an algae-based alternative to synthetic and petrochemical EVA. The whole of the shoe uses animal free products and processes making it vegan-friendly.
PRO5 Outsole
Delivering supreme grip and traction over a wide range of terrains, the Primus II Bio will keep you in firm control with the PRO5 outsole. The ultra-thin rubber protects itself against the uneven ground as it is abrasion resistant. In addition to this, the outsole is five times more puncture resistant than other similar models. The multi-directional design on the outsole will provide further grip and traction. The outsole and other parts of the shoe benefit from using recycled PET. This makes the shoes more sustainable, preventing plastic from ending up in oceans or landfills and giving it a second life.
