Post-Run Recovery Session with Tom Evans & Sophie Coldwell
Maximising recovery and repair is a key factor in getting the most out of your training. In the latest episode of our #NoFunStandingStill AT HOME series, we are joined by superstar athletic duo Tom Evans and Sophie Coldwell, who guide us through their regular post-training recovery session.
Ultra distance trail runner Tom took the ultra running world by storm in 2017, with a surprise 3rd place in the brutal 251km Marathon Des Sables. He has since gone on to incredible success, breaking many course records, and notably taking the crown in the 101km CCC race at the 2018 Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc. In 2019 he took third place at the iconic Western States 100, breaking the record for the fastest overseas time.
Sophie is an elite Team GB triathlete, achieving an outstanding number of medal winning performances in ITU and ETU championships, including taking the gold in the 2019 Cagliari ITU Triathlon World Cup.
Here the pair bring together their combined knowledge from their individual disciplines to run us through their typical post-run recovery routine, starting from the moment you walk back through the front door. Covering all aspects of recovery from post-run nutrition, to hydration, stretching and how to use the new Theragun accessory, this session will have you refreshed and ready to go for your next run.
