Born out of the need for a new and dynamic mountaineering backpack, Lowe Alpine was created by brothers Greg, Mike and Jeff Lowe, leading climbers of their generation. In 1967, the original Expedition pack was launched, featuring an innovative construction that would become the foundation from which all modern, technical backpacks would evolve. Lightweight, secure and comfortable, the Expedition pack allowed mountaineers to move freely on challenging terrain, setting the standard for the future of Lowe Alpine’s world-class carry systems.
