FAQs
Podium is a race series owned by SportsShoes, specialising in fast, elite-standard graded 5K road races designed for competitive runners.
A graded race groups runners by predicted finish time, placing athletes of similar ability in the same race. This creates evenly matched fields, more consistent pacing, and a higher level of direct competition.
All entrants must be over the age of 15.
All upcoming Podium races will be displayed on this page. Click your chosen race to enter. If the event is full, the button will indicate ‘Entries Full’. Please note entries typically sell out quickly.
SportsShoes Podium Classic usually costs around £8 - £10 to enter, while our Podium events in collaboration with Friday Night Under the Lights costs around £30. Our entry fees typically sit within this price range £8 - £30.
Traditionally Podium is a 5K race format, however we have previously hosted 10k events and may offer additional race distance races in the future.
All SportsShoes Podium races are licensed by England Athletics and have official chip timing in place. This allows your results to be automatically uploaded to Power of 10 and Run Britain Rankings, as well our Podium results page.
Our Podium races usually have a cash pot of around £6,000 with prizes typically awarded for course record, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. On selected occasions, prize money may extend down to 5th place.
SportsShoes will not be hosting a Podium Festival for 2026 but have plans to bring back this iconic event in 2027.
Podium races have been held at Leicester cycle circuit, Battersea Park (London) Bute Park (Cardiff). We are continuously looking to explore new locations to bring Podium to more cities across the UK.
